POCKET ALCHEMY TEXTILES

With a fundamental love of creating, Pocket Alchemy designer Susan Kendal is generally either making or thinking about making. Primarily she stitches and sews, though she also carves a mean rubber stamp and wields both glue stick and gun quite deftly. She adores the myriad of textures available in paper, the possibility in a bolt of fabric, a skein of yarn or embroidery floss. Susan’s foundation as a textile artist is her great respect and valuation of handmade work, taking time and care with materials, design and process.

Currently Pocket Alchemy is focussed on a line of comforting quilts, burp-cloths, toy/soother straps, and charming felt toys. These durable, practical pieces made from natural materials and delightful fabric prints are ideal for all families, from hip to hippy! Each piece is made by hand in Simcoe County, Canada.

Pocket Alchemy makes the ever-charming felt matryoshka art dolls and mini-matryoshka brooches.
